Artist

Watercolourist Daiva Šlajienė is distinguished in the context of our platform by her rich, jewel-like colours, which spill out to hypnotise the viewer. Her paintings try to speak to ancient objects, which become the main protagonists of her works, and her figure compositions are like film stills frozen in time or scenes from a performance, where every detail has a symbolic meaning. And to make it easier to understand what the artist means, she adds a short story or a poetic verse to each piece. You can find it by opening the painting and clicking on the "DESCRIPTION" section.

Daiva Šlajienė is a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union, a watercolourist, who has held solo exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. She has participated in more than two dozen group republican and international exhibitions.  Her watercolours have been acquired by collectors in Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.
