Artist

I am an artist based in Vilnius.

The language of painting, in a way, is the easiest for me to speak. With this expression I can convey my world of images, which sometimes seem so fragile and obscure, and which, once on the canvas, take on a clear shape. I like different genres, both portrait and landscape. Often viewers see childhood themes in my work. One art critic described my style quite aptly: "The artist speaks of 'infantilism' not only through her subjects, but also by partly recreating a 'naive', adolescent manner of painting."

Why am I painting childhood? Because it's an interesting phenomenon of the past, it's real and at the same time it's changed with the passage of time. Everything remains in the memory, which creates an illusion. Childhood is interesting because of its colourfulness, which I convey in colours, from dark to light. Some of my works are funny, others are sad. I create a lot of characters, and some from childhood photographs, and they are transferred into paintings. Each work reflects real or imaginary stories, stories from children's books and from my fantasies.

Since 2016 I have had several solo exhibitions. I received my Master of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts diplomas from Vilnius Academy of Arts.
