Charles Darwin's Children's Drawings in the Manuscript of On the Origin of Species
Charles Darwin once said that children are life's greatest joy and, more often than not, an even greater torment, so a true scientist would be better off without them. Yet he did not follow his own advice. He and his wife Emma had ten children.
This claim is perfectly illustrated by the children's drawings left on the flyleaves and in the margins of the manuscript of his famous work, "On the Origin of Species." Since the manuscript is now being digitized by the American Museum of Natural History, you too can browse these little drawings. They are simply charming!
