Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting shows several yellow tulips in varying stages of bloom interspersed with thick, green leaves. The petals have a textured, almost vibrant brush work that gives them a lively, dynamic feel. The background is painted in a neutral, creamy-grey tone with broad brush strokes, crafting a soft, abstract effect that draws attention to the sharp colors of the tulips and leaves. The leaves themselves are rendered with dense green hues accented with streaks of dark shades suggesting shadow and depth. The interplay of light and texture throughout the composition highlights the natural beauty and delicate form of the tulips, evoking a sense of growth and the freshness of spring.
