Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
In the painting "Woman Loves the Sun" by Kristina Česonytė, there's a figure sitting down. The figure, likely a woman, seems relaxed. The colors are muted, mostly whites and grays, but there's a splash of pink and red outlining her form. A bright yellow sunburst adds a pop of color to the top right corner, giving a bit of warmth to the scene. Kristina Česonytė's style here is expressive. The brushwork is thick and textured, which makes the surface seem lively. It's a bit abstract, focusing on emotions rather than clear, detailed representations. This painting has a gentle, contemplative vibe, suggesting a quiet moment under the sun.
