Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting vividly portrays a cluster of red flowers against a dark, undefined background. Thick, impasto brushstrokes create a textured surface, capturing the light and shadow across the petals and leaves. The flowers are rendered in various shades of red, ranging from deep crimson to soft pink, highlighted with white strokes that suggest a lively, shimmering quality. The leaves are depicted in strokes of green and blue, adding a cooling contrast to the warm tones of the blooms. The overall effect is dynamic and somewhat abstract, focusing on form and color over detailed realism. The flowers, luxuriously opaque, seem almost tactile, as if one could feel the paint's thickness by touching the canvas.
