Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting features a grid-like arrangement of shaded circles in varying hues of pink, red, green, and white. Each circle is partitioned into segments of differing colors and sizes, suggesting an optical effect of depth and movement. The background transitions subtly from dark to lighter tones, enhancing the geometric compositions of the circles which appear to float over or recede into the surface, creating a dynamic interaction of color and form. This meticulous arrangement invites the viewer to explore the interplay of harmony and contrast within a confined space.
