Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting displays an array of overlapping circles in various shades of pink, purple, and white, set against a textured grey background. Each circle contains segments that are differently colored, creating an illusion of depth and three-dimensionality. The vibrant hues range from deep magentas to soft lilacs, and pure whites, which are artistically sectioned in ways that some appear as though they are casting shadows over others. This strategic placement and color variation give the artwork a lively, dynamic feel, as if the circles are floating or gently resting on the grey surface. The composition is orderly yet playful, inviting the viewer's eye to wander through the sea of colorful orbs.
