Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting features a whimsical red panda sipping a cocktail. The panda is stylishly accessorized with a pair of round, black sunglasses, adding a touch of mystery and flair. Its fur is presented in expressive red and white brushstrokes that give it a vibrant and textured appearance. The panda holds a slender glass in its paw, seemingly enjoying its drink. The background is adorned with a lively pattern of leopard spots in black and gray, set against a soothing pale blue backdrop that contrasts playfully with the red of the panda’s fur. The overall effect is both playful and intriguing, inviting the viewer into a lighthearted, almost celebratory moment.
