"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting portrays a vibrant, dynamic landscape dominated by a vast field under a tempestuous sky. The lower portion of the canvas is filled with a vivid display of greens, ranging from a deep, lush shade in the foreground to a lighter, more yellowish hue as the eye moves toward the horizon. This gradient suggests a rich, sunlit plain, alive with natural vitality. Above this expanse, the sky, painted in dark, moody blues and grays, adds a dramatic contrast. It appears stormy, with heavy clouds rolling across the scene, possibly hinting at an impending downpour. This atmospheric tension between the stormy sky and the sunlit field creates a compelling interplay of light and shadow, color and mood. The artist's use of thick, expressive brushstrokes adds texture and a sense of movement to the scene, further enhancing the painting's emotional impact.
