Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting "In Love" by Kristina Česonytė shows two birds. They look connected by a line or branch, and they are facing each other. The background features colorful blobs—mostly pink and red with splatters of green and blue. Kristina's style in this piece seems spontaneous and playful. She uses bold, sketchy lines for the birds, which gives them a dynamic look. The splash of colors adds a sense of motion and emotion to the scene. It feels both raw and tender. Overall, the artwork captures a moment that feels lively yet intimate. It's a beautiful expression of connection and affection.
