"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting presents a striking rendition of several cats, depicted in an abstract and stylized manner. There are five cats in various postures—jumping, standing, and sitting—each rendered in a playful, fluid outline that conveys motion and liveliness. The artist uses a palette dominated by blues and yellows, with the cats primarily illustrated in blue and embellished with numerous small, black dots, suggesting a spotted coat. Their eyes are also strikingly depicted in yellow, enhancing their expressive appearances. The background is a light cream color, speckled with numerous tiny dots, possibly representing sand or a textured surface, adding depth and interest to the composition. The style is free and dynamic, capturing the whimsical and elusive nature of cats.
