Jonas Kozulas (1949–2017) was a landscape artist acclaimed for his commitment to the uncommon Marinist genre in Lithuania. His paintings captured the dynamic force and majesty of the sea, while also presenting tranquil scenes of Lithuanian nature. Kozulas demonstrated exceptional technical skill, enabling him to merge realism with personal vision, skillfully weaving together imagination and direct experience.

Besides his seascapes, Kozulas frequently sought inspiration from the surrounding landscapes, incorporating elements uniquely characteristic of the Lithuanian countryside into his artwork. His former experience as a portrait photographer refined his strong compositional sense and contributed to the atmospheric mood present in many of his pieces.
